Erik Wermut was born in NYC in the late 70s to a relatively normal family. He was always somewhat of a loner, however, and had very few friends as he grew up. Although he doesnt look it, he is relatively athletic. Because he looked like an easy mark, he was picked on quite a bit as a child. The physical abuse from his friends (and later his family), combined with a powerful intellect, led him to begin the study of the martial arts. At the age of 18 he began getting a "bad feeling" every once in a while and having nightmares that he couldnt quite remember. A few months later, he Awakened on his own and almost had a mental breakdown due to the stress. Things began falling apart around him as his entropic powers ran amok and for a week he hid in an abandoned warehouse, trying to get a grip on reality. His sensei found him there and revealed that he was part of a group called the Akashic Brotherhood, a group of Mysticks that wanted to help Erik control his gifts. Erik agreed and began his study under Horus, a Master of the Sphere of the Mind. During this period, Eriks nightmares intensified and he began grasping parts of them. He saw himself fighting some shadowy being and, in the end, dying. These visions have reinforced his feeling that something is going to happen to him, and for the first time he realizes that it may not be a good fate. A few months into his apprenticeship, Erik decided that the Brotherhood wasnt the group for him. Their opinions were too rigid and formal; they seemed to be stagnant. Horus took this personally and now impedes Eriks progress whenever possible. Since then, Erik has established a small Sanctuary for himself in a low rent apartment on the lower East side. He received word recently that Horus feel into a Quiet. Hes not sure how he feels about that. Eriks driving goal is to understand his place in the Tellurian. His strong sense of fate has convinced him that there is a definite pattern to everything and he wants to figure out what it is. Erik is roughly 6 tall, and though thinly built his practice of Do has lent his frame strength. He typically dresses in black slacks tucked into knee high boots, a black tab-collar shirt, and a black wool watchmans coat. Whenever he goes out, he wears a black fedora, no matter what the weather. He has thick black hair that falls to his shoulders and is rarely tied back. Erik also wears a variety of rings and jewelry and carries a short sword in his jacket. His watch is silver with a black leather strap and the face is numbered from 13-24 in roman numerals. He also carries a pack of woodblock print Tarot cards that he often uses to focus his Entropy powers (although it isnt necessary anymore). His Mind powers can be focuses with hand gestures. |
