The State of the Nation

The darkness steals in,
Smothering the light,
Suppressing our thoughts
And dampening our will.

Undiscernable flames billow into the sky,
Consuming our designs,
Glaring across the night
The black lightning strikes a mission.

Flowing unnoticed into the streets,
An invisible living river,
As generations of work crumbles.

No one notices the waste,
No one understands the loss,
No one even knows the
Society is crumbling.
