| Even in the age of
modern warfare, a bow is still a good weapon due to its silent nature and light weight.
The makers of the Pneumatic Arrow Launcher felt that the crossbow needed an overhaul. The
PAL is a lightweight and versatile weapon. It fires 6 inch long metal arrows using
compressed air which is stored in the gun itself. The PAL uses a pump action to reload its
10 pencil thin barrels (which are in a 2x5 stack). Working the action causes 10 more
arrows to load from the vertical clip which is inserted into the top of the PAL. One of
the most convenient features about the PAL is the diversity of its ammo. One can use
anything from simple wooden shafts to high tech synthetics to magic arrows (as long as
they fit - the arrows must be 6 inches long and .25 inches thick). Weight: 4lbs
Damage: Varies with arrow. See below.
Rate: Single, or in volleys of 2, 6, or 10
Range: 700 feet
Payload: 30
Cost: $1000 / 5000 credits
Note: Even in volleys, the PAL gets a standard +3 to strike due to the
fact that there is no appreciable recoil. This bonus only applies if all the arrows are
being fired at one target.
