| Elven Bows & Arrows | by Gabriel |
| Both the Dwarves and the Kobolds are the
recognized masters of weapon smithing. However Palladium® seems to have neglected the
masters of archery, the Elves. The Elven people have been practicing archery for millennia
and as such ought to be able to make bows without compare, and arrows without peer. Thus I
wrote up some rules for buying superior bows and arrows. I personally only apply these
rules to long bows, short bows and recurve bows, not crossbows. I have always viewed those
as a human weapon and elves would not manufacture them. However this is up to the GM to
decide. So without further adieu, here are the elven weapons. Elven Bows: +1 to strike, add 800% to price of the standard weapon +50 feet to range, add 200% to price of the standard
weapon Note: These bows require a minimum strength of 10 to use. For each bonus, the requirement is raised 1 point. Example: A normal elven bow with no bonuses requires a strength of 10 to use. A bow with a +1 to damage requires a strength of 11. A bow with a +3 to damage and +1 to strike requires a strength of 14 (for the ranges, count +50 feet as +1, +150 feet as +2, and +300 feet as +3). Elven Arrows: +1 to strike, add 150% to price of the standard arrow These arrows are fairly common in elven sections of the community or elven shops. The bows are usually specially commissioned works however, and take 1D4 months to complete. Merchants however usually has some bows lying around for sale. |
